Frankincense Eritrea comes from the small East African country of Eritrea and is harvested there from Boswellia papyrifera and related species. The resin resembles Ethiopian frankincense but has its own regional characteristics with a slightly different fragrance composition.
Eritrea was historically part of the ancient frankincense trade routes and its population has a long tradition of burning incense. In Eritrean culture, frankincense is burned at social occasions, religious ceremonies, and as an act of hospitality. As an incense it is said to create purification, protection, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Use: Place granules on incense charcoal. A mild, fresh frankincense fragrance.
