Wiki / Sandalwood

Sandalwood (White Sandalwood, Santalum album) is one of the most noble and prized incense materials in the world. The characteristic fragrance – creamily warm, sweetly woody, deep and long-lasting – is unmistakeable and is considered in many cultures the quintessence of spiritual incense.

In India, China, Japan and throughout South-East Asia, sandalwood has been used for thousands of years in temples, at funerals, in meditations and as a perfume. In Hinduism it is one of the five sacred substances. As an incense, sandalwood is said to calm the mind, promote deep meditation, drive away evil energies and open the connection with the divine.

Use: Place chips or pieces on incense charcoal or heat slowly in an incense burner. One of the finest incense wood experiences.
