Wiki / Pushkarmoola

Pushkarmoola (Indian Elecampane, Inula racemosa) is a medicinal plant native to the Himalayas that has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years for respiratory and heart conditions. The root releases a powerful, spicy, slightly camphor-like and ginger-like fragrance when burned.

In the Ayurvedic tradition, Pushkarmoola is considered strengthening for the lungs and heart. As an incense it is said to open and cleanse the airways, bring relief for respiratory conditions, and simultaneously strengthen and clarify the mind. It is also used in meditations that address the heart area.

Use: Place small root pieces on incense charcoal. Intense fragrance – use only a small amount.
