Wiki / The Seven Chakras

The Seven Chakras (Sanskrit: wheel, circle) are the seven main energy centres of the human body in Indian yoga philosophy and Ayurveda. They lie along the spine from the coccyx to the crown of the head and regulate the flow of life energy Prana through the body. Each chakra is associated with specific physical organs, emotional qualities, colours, elements and sounds.

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) – Red – Earth – security, grounding
2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) – Orange – Water – creativity, sexuality
3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – Yellow – Fire – willpower, self-confidence
4. Heart Chakra (Anahata) – Green – Air – love, compassion
5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) – Blue – Ether – communication, truth
6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) – Indigo – intuition, wisdom
7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) – Violet/White – enlightenment, connection with the divine

Incense for the chakras: Each chakra can be addressed through specific incense substances – from patchouli (root) through rose (heart) to frankincense (crown). Chakra incense blends combine these correspondences in coordinated compositions.
