Wiki / Hyssop

Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis) is an aromatic herb of the Mediterranean region, mentioned several times in the Bible as a purifying agent. As an incense, the dried herb releases a fresh-spicy, slightly camphorated, and pleasantly medicinal fragrance.

In the Old Testament, hyssop was used for ritual purifications and as part of the Passover ceremony. "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean" (Psalm 51). As an incense, hyssop stands for spiritual purification, forgiveness, and the removal of spiritual impurity. It is said to bring about deep soul cleansing and to provide peace and clarity.

Use: Place dried herb on incense charcoal. A fresh, herbal fragrance – ideal for purification rituals.
