Wiki / Tulsi / Holy Basil

Tulsi (Holy Basil, Ocimum tenuiflorum) is the most sacred plant of Hinduism. In almost every Hindu household in India, a Tulsi shrub grows in the courtyard and is venerated daily with prayers. As an incense, the dried herb releases a spicy, slightly herbal-peppery fragrance.

Tulsi is considered an earthly manifestation of the goddess Lakshmi and is associated with Vishnu. Burning Tulsi cleanses body and soul, is said to drive away evil spirits, attract blessings and strengthen spiritual connection. In Ayurvedic medicine, Tulsi is an adaptogen with multiple healing effects.

Use: Place dried herb on incense charcoal. Spicy-aromatic fragrance – deeply connected with Indian spirituality.
