Wiki / Thyme

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a classic Mediterranean incense herb with an intense, fresh-spicy and camphor-like fragrance. The aromatic herb contains thymol and carvacrol – compounds with strong purifying properties.

The Greek word "thymos" means both thyme and "soul" and "courage". In antiquity, thyme was burned as a sacrificial smoke for the gods. As an incense, thyme is said to bestow courage, drive away fear and exhaustion, energetically cleanse spaces and strengthen the immune system. It is a powerful purifying agent for body, mind and space.

Use: Place dried herb on incense charcoal or burn as a bundle. Vigorous, clear fragrance.
