Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is one of the most versatile incense herbs of Europe. This aromatic Mediterranean herb releases a fresh, spicy, slightly camphor-like and pine-like fragrance when burned, that immediately invigorates and has a clarifying effect.
"Rosemary is for remembrance" – even Shakespeare knew of its mentally activating properties. In folk magic, rosemary is the classic cleansing herb and protective agent: it drives away evil spirits, strengthens memory, protects the home and was formerly used at weddings, funerals and purification rituals.
Use: Place fresh or dried sprigs on incense charcoal or burn as a bundle. Fresh, vigorous fragrance – ideal for cleansing after illness or conflict.
