Wiki / White Pepper

White Pepper comes, like black pepper, from the plant Piper nigrum, but has had its outer husk removed. As an incense, white pepper releases a somewhat milder, less smoky but equally spicy fragrance compared to black pepper.

In incense practice, white pepper – unlike black – is used more for cleansing and light-bringing rituals. It is said to have a clarifying effect, sharpen the mind and transform negative influences more gently than its black counterpart. Also used for truth-finding and clarity rituals.

Use: Place peppercorns on incense charcoal. Milder than black pepper, but still intense.
