Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) is an aromatic herb from South-East Asia with a distinctive, deeply earthy, musky and sweet fragrance. The dried leaves or resin are used as incense.
Patchouli was a symbol of the hippie movement in the 1960s and 70s and remains one of the most characteristic perfume aromas in the world. In incense practice it is used for grounding and rooting rituals, love and sensuality incense, and to attract prosperity. It is said to be grounding and anchoring.
Use: Place dried leaves or resin granules on incense charcoal. Intense, long-lasting fragrance – very popular as a base note.
