Wiki / Olibanum India

Olibanum India (Indian Frankincense) is obtained from the tree Boswellia serrata, native to the dry mountain regions of India. The resin has a warm, balsamically resinous fragrance with light honey and citrus notes, distinctly different from East African and Arabian frankincense.

In India, Boswellia serrata – known as "Shallaki" – is an important component of Ayurvedic medicine. As an incense, Indian frankincense is used in temples, during Puja ceremonies and in the domestic spiritual sphere. It is said to cleanse the mind, deepen meditation and offer spiritual protection.

Use: Place resin granules on incense charcoal. Warm and balsamic – a beautiful fragrance for yoga and meditation.
