Wiki / Olibanum / Frankincense

Olibanum – classic frankincense – is the dried gum resin of various Boswellia tree species from the dry regions of Arabia, East Africa and India. It is arguably the best-known incense resin in the world and has been a central element in the religious rituals of all major world religions for thousands of years.

Frankincense bridges opposites: it elevates the profane to the sacred and opens the senses to the spiritual. In the Christian Church, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism it is used for prayers, rituals and ceremonies. As an incense it cleanses spaces, lifts the mood and promotes spiritual connection.

Use: Place resin granules on incense charcoal. The classic among incense resins – always appropriate.
