Singing Bowls (also known as Tibetan Singing Bowls) are bowl-shaped instruments made of metal (usually an alloy of 7 metals) or quartz/crystal, which produce a long-resonating, overtone-rich sound when rubbed or struck. Although often described as "Tibetan", they actually originate from the Himalayan region (Nepal, Bhutan, Northern India).
The deep, vibrating sound of a singing bowl calms the nervous system, slows brainwaves and induces states of deep relaxation. In sound massage (sound therapy), bowls are placed directly on or around the body. Crystal singing bowls are tuned to specific frequencies and chakras and are used for deep meditations, healing work and chakra balancing.
Use: Strike with the provided mallet or circle the rim. Singing bowls and incense complement each other beautifully for deep meditation practices.
