Wiki / Pine Needles

Pine Needles from the Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) and related pine species are a traditional incense of Northern Europe and North America. When burned they release a fresh, spicy, woody fragrance that immediately evokes coniferous forests.

In many cultures, coniferous trees are regarded as the World Tree and a connection between the worlds. Pine needles were and continue to be used for purification incense, to strengthen during illness and for grounding. They are said to clarify spaces, counteract negative energies and strengthen the connection with nature.

Use: Place fresh or dried needles on incense charcoal or in an incense bowl. They crackle when burning – wonderful forest scent.
