Wiki / Catnip

Catnip (Nepeta cataria) is known for its intoxicating effect on cats, but also has a long history in human healing and incense practice. The dried herb releases a delicate, herbaceous-minty and slightly sweet fragrance when burned.

In magical tradition, catnip is used for love incense, to attract luck and for cat magic (connection with cat deities such as Bastet). It is said to have a relaxing effect, promote dreams and strengthen intuition. Also known as a protective plant for the home.

Use: Place dried herb on incense charcoal. Pleasantly mild smoke.
