Wiki / Camphor

Camphor (from the camphor tree Cinnamomum camphora) is a crystalline substance with a distinctive, intensely cooling-fresh and medicinal fragrance. As an incense it is valued in many Asian cultures and religions.

In Hindu Puja practice, Buddhism and Taoism, camphor is frequently burned. It is considered powerfully purifying, said to drive away evil spirits and protect sacred spaces. In India, camphor is burned in the palms of the hands during temple rituals. Its smell opens the airways and sharpens the senses.

Use: Place only a little camphor on charcoal – the fragrance is very intense. Ventilate well. Do not use in enclosed spaces.
