Gum Arabic is the dried resin of the Egyptian Acacia (Acacia senegal and related species) and comes from the dry savannahs of North Africa and the Middle East. The transparent to light brown granules burn with a mild, slightly sweet and discreet fragrance.
Gum Arabic is one of the oldest known resins – the ancient Egyptians were already using it for mummification and incense. In a spiritual context it served to purify persons and sacred objects. As an incense it is considered mildly purifying, calming and a good base for incense blends.
Use: Place granules on incense charcoal. Mild, discreet smoke – ideal as a neutral base in your own blends.
