Wiki / Elemi

Elemi (also Manila Copal) is a fresh, soft tree resin from the tree Canarium luzonicum, native to the Philippines. The pale, waxy resin has a distinctive fragrance: fresh, citrusy-lemony, slightly peppery, with fennel or dill-like notes.

Elemi was used in European apothecary culture of the 16th–18th centuries as a wound salve and healing agent. As an incense it is said to be invigorating, clarifying and uplifting. It is used for meditation incense, to promote inspiration and creativity, and for spiritual opening rituals.

Use: Place small amounts of the soft resin on incense charcoal. Very fresh, vibrant fragrance – invigorating for mind and senses.
