Oak Bark from the Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur) or other oak species is a traditional incense from Celtic and Germanic tradition. The bark contains tannins and aromatic compounds and releases an earthy, slightly bitter and powerful forest scent when burned.
The oak was regarded as the holiest of all trees by the Celts, Germanic peoples and Greeks. For the druids it was the sacred oracle wood. As an incense, oak bark embodies strength, endurance, grounding and deep rootedness. It is used for protection rituals, to strengthen during difficult life challenges and for grounding after intensive spiritual experiences.
Use: Place small pieces of bark on incense charcoal. Grounding, powerful forest scent.
