Burgundy Resin (also Burgundy Pitch or Spruce Pitch) is a light, refined resin obtained primarily from the Common Spruce (Picea abies). It has a fresh-resinous, woody fragrance with slightly citrusy and camphor-like notes – a true forest scent from Europe.
Burgundy Resin was used as a wound and healing remedy in the Middle Ages and early modern period and has long been known as an incense resin. As an incense it is said to cleanse spaces, open the airways, offer protection and create a clear, fresh atmosphere. It is a down-to-earth, European incense resin with a long history.
Use: Place resin lumps on incense charcoal. Fresh forest scent – well suited for cleansing incense rituals.
