Boswellia Serrata – Indian Frankincense – is obtained from the tree Boswellia serrata, native to the dry mountain regions of India and Pakistan. The resin has a warm, balsamic and mild fragrance with light honey notes and is gentler than Arabian frankincense.
In Ayurvedic medicine, Boswellia serrata – known as Shallaki – has been a valued anti-inflammatory and strengthening agent for thousands of years. In Indian temples it is burned daily for Puja ceremonies. As an incense it is said to cleanse the mind, deepen meditation and elevate spiritual consciousness.
Use: Place resin granules on incense charcoal. Warm, balsamic, very pleasant – ideal for yoga and meditation.
